What are wedding favours?

Wedding favours are small gifts or keepsakes, given by the bride to her guests as a thank you for being a part of the wedding celebration.

Who should receive them?

This is really up to you. It is perfectly acceptable to give favours to the ladies only, but more often than not nowadays, brides are choosing to give favours to all their wedding guests.

I’d like something traditional, what can you recommend?

The original wedding favour, was the Italian style BOMBONIERE. This traditionally consists of five sugared almonds wrapped in layers of lace or tulle hand-tied with ribbon by the bride. (With today’s busy lifestyles however, brides tend to seek a bit of professional help!)

Why five almonds?

Everlasting, like true love, the five almonds symbolise the five wedding wishes for health, wealth, happiness, longevity and fertility.

I have a limited budget, but would really like to give favours to all my guests. What would you suggest?

Any of the folding favour boxes in our Wedding Whites favour range are extremely good value, or why not combine a petite chiffon bag with a top hat for the gents - £2.00 for the pair, plus confectionery which can be purchased in economical kilo boxes.

What can I give to the children at my wedding?

We have lots of super children’s favour ideas to choose from, super soft huggable toys,
complete with an over-sized colourful name tag, which children love!

Our wedding is abroad, what would you recommend as favours?

Any of our chiffon favour bags from the Sheer Delights range, as they are lightweight and easy to pack! Alternatively, we can deliver to any worldwide destination. Avoid chocolate confectionery if you are getting married in a hot climate!

I’d like to make my own favours, is this possible?

Yes you can, and we’ve made it easy for you! For expert looking, uniform favours, check out the pre- tied bows in our Ribbons range, which come on straps, twist ties and self-adhesive pads. Perfect every time!

How soon should I place my order?

We recommend at least 12 weeks before the wedding date. This allows for all eventualities, and means you receive your goods in plenty of time for the big day.

Do you provide samples?

We are happy to send physical samples for a minimum charge of £1.00, or the price of the item. Charges for samples are refunded against future orders. We can alternatively prepare a sample for you and send a photograph by E-mail, which is proving a very popular service.

Is there a minimum order?

There is no minimum order, however a few of our products are subject to minimum quantities.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Our minimum delivery charge is £3.95, or 10% of the order value for orders between £40-£250. Orders above £250 are sent F.O.C.

How soon should I order my real petal confetti?

It is always best to place your order as far in advance as possible, however we tend to despatch petals according to their type and colour as near to the event as you are comfortable with. Like all natural products, all petals require very careful storage in order to be at their best for the big day. Petals should be stored at ambient temperature, out of direct sunlight, and in dry conditions.

Delphinium Petals are the easiest to store, with a shelf life of 2 years, followed by Bougainvillea which can be safely stored for up to 6 months. Freeze dried Rose Petals are the trickiest to store, and have a shelf-life of 4 months. As a rule of thumb, petals with the most pigment, e.g. burgandy, will stay at their best for longer, whilst pale colours such as cream(especially rose petals) can deteriorate if not stored in ideal conditions. We tend to send rose petals out no sooner than 6 weeks before the wedding for this
reason.
