What is a two tier veil?

A two-tier veil is a wedding veil that features a section of tulle known as a blusher. The blusher is traditionally pulled over the face before the bride walks down the aisle. However, more recently many brides choose to sweep this extra layer back instead. This creates a stunning ‘waterfall’ effect as the sections of tulles cascade down the dress.

What Do Two Tier Veils Look Like?

Two tier wedding veils are made from a single oval of fabric, usually Italian tulle, which is gathered to give the appearance of two layers of tulle.

The longest layer is the veil ‘proper’. This is the section which cascades over a bride’s hair, shoulders and back and down to the floor, depending on the chosen length. The short layer is the blusher, which can be pulled over the bride’s face as she glides down the aisle before being gently pulled back by whomever she chooses before saying her vows. Alternatively, the blusher can be lifted back and pulled over the longer veil section, to achieve a stunning waterfall effect.
