White & Floral
A white and floral wedding cake is a classic and timeless option for most weddings, creating a decadent centrepiece in the venue (besides the newlywed couple!) The classic white icing lends an air of sophistication, while the delicate floral decorations add a touch of colour and romance.
This five-tier white and floral wedding cake by the Quality Cake Company is contemporary and elegant. The edges were highlighted with moulded floral motifs and hints of gold added a luxury finish. For a splash of colour, it was topped with pink faux flowers to continue the soft elegant floral theme and for a touch of romance. Finally, the happy couple’s initials were added in a floral ring to make it feel extra special and personal.
About The Wedding Cake Company: Covering Tamworth and the surrounding areas, the Quality Cake Company is owned by sisters, Angie and Lisa along with their friend, Isabel. Since 2017, their team has grown by 4 talented cake makers and decorators.

A coastal-themed wedding cake can be a stunning centrepiece that enhances a wedding set by a beach or the coast.
Movement, texture and feeling were three elements that inspired this coastal-themed cake for a wedding in Ilfracombe. Being given free rein from the couple, Cake Design by Holly Miller decided not to go down the route of a ‘typical’ seaside blue colour scheme. Instead, she chose to embrace and celebrate the movement of the sea and the divine earthy tones of the shore, creating tiers of varying heights, shapes and sizes.
Rice paper sails showcased the powerful yet elegant crash and froth of waves. The pebbles and the dried grass surrounding their design added the final touches to their ethereal coastal creation.

Choosing the perfect wedding cake is a big decision when planning your big day. The wedding cake is not only a tasty treat for you and your guests, but it also serves as a focal point of your reception and a symbol of your love and commitment. With so many options available, it's important to consider a few key factors when selecting your wedding cake:
1. Set A Budget
Before you start browsing through cake designs and flavours, it's important to establish a budget and stick to it. Take into account the size of your guest list and the complexity of the design you have in mind. Remember that intricate designs and custom decorations are generally an additional cost.
2. Complement Your Theme
Your wedding cake should complement the theme of your wedding. Whether you want a traditional, contemporary, garden or rustic-themed wedding, the cake should reflect the aesthetic of your celebration. Consider your colour scheme, floral arrangements and other decorative elements that can be incorporated into your cake design.
3. Choose Your Flavours
When choosing the flavours for your wedding cake, think about your personal preferences. Consider offering a variety of flavours to accommodate your guests and their different tastes. Popular flavours include Victoria sponge, vanilla, fruit, chocolate, red velvet and lemon. Don't be afraid to get creative with having a different flavour for each tier!
4. Book a Cake Tasting Session
Before deciding on a cake company, be sure to review their portfolio and test a sample or two. Look for an experienced cake designer who can bring your dream wedding cake to life. Book a tasting to sample their cakes and discuss your ideas and preferences with them. It is also helpful to bring inspirational photos to show your cake designer.
5. Consider Dietary Restrictions
It's important to consider any dietary restrictions or allergies that your guests may have. If you have guests who are vegan, gluten-free, coeliac or have other dietary restrictions, make sure to discuss these with your cake designer so that everyone can enjoy a slice of cake!
